Happy Halloween!

I love to dress up ...I was a bit on a budget this year so I created my costume :D 
My husband and I went as sugar skulls / dia de los muertos inspiration to a party the weekend before Halloween.  

So today I pulled put an old costume and did a quick makeup job to entertain the trick or treaters.

Fall Lips :)

Dark plum lips are all the craze at the moment and I love it! I went to a wedding this past weekend and decided I wanted a dark lip look ...I didn't want it too too dark so I added a bit of a hot pink to it.  What do you guys think?! 

Why have I been MIA again...??

Well I went and got married ...so I have been a bit stressed and overwhelmed. It all started about 3 months ago when my fiancé(at the time)and I decided we should get married 11-11-11 ... Why that date? ...no not because it's lucky.. We did it because he has a hard time remembering anything ..one of the reasons why he proposed on my birthday. It was that or we wait until 12-12-12 and no one wanted to wait ...I mean what for right? Since it was spur of the moment ... We had about a month and a half to plan and get the wedding together and I am pretty darn happy with the outcome. I have not yet gotten the pictures from the photographer but as soon as I get them I will post them ...with the help of a good friend I even hand made my wedding invitations :)

I was reading the current cosmo magazine and came across this clipping ...omg it's the short wedding dress I wore ..I also wore a long traditional Indian one as well ...pictures to come

This was our custom cake topper ... Everyone absolutely loved it ... I got it from etsy the lady was so nice and easy to work with.  

So where am I now? ...still a bit overwhelmed but getting better ...and slowly adjusting to the married life. Since things are getting back to normal and I am getting more iPad savvy ;p I will start trying to post regularly again.

Current Read: Little Bee

I am the kind of girl that loves to read chick lit.. I really like romatic comedy's ( I love all books by Sophie Kinsilla) but once in a while I will read different types of books ..like twilight ;p.  Currently I picked up this book which I have seen pop up everywhere .. it is writtten very well and easy to keep reading. The book is about a Nigerian refugee I dont want to say too much more except that it is very interesting and you will not want to put the book down.

What kinds of book do you like?  What are you currently reading?

Gucci Guilty!!!

I am not one to fall in love with perfumes very often I have my 4 staples and I only go back and fourth between them and dont ever let any other perfume into the click ... until I tried the new Gucci perfume.  It is a heavier scent but I enjoy it :)

And the package is just so pretty ... as you can see I have used so much of it already even tho I have only had it for about a month and a half.  This size above which is a 50 ml retails for $75 USD.  The fragrance is classified as a floriental, with notes of mandarin, pink pepper, peach, lilac, geranium, amber, and patchouli.  This is a very seductive and sexy scent but can still be worn during the day.  The first couple moments you will feel that the scent is kind of heavy but after that it will become soft and you will not even remember you have it on .. (well i guess its the same for all scents)

I just got news that the Guy one is out and I am dying to smell it .. maybe the bf will get one too.

Skin Care Haul

Hello everyone ... I know I have been MIA for a while but I have a very good reason .. my laptop is messed up and I havent had the time to research what laptop I would like to invest in next ...so in the mean time I am using my sister whenever she lets me

Now on to the products I got, the 2 Clarins products are re-buys and the 2 Estee Lauder products are new spring items so it is the first time I am trying them.

This Clarins base is so awesome it is called instant smooth and that is exactly what it does.  It is a little pricey.. it retails for $32 USD... but it is worth it.  This is my 2nd one, I use it very sparingly and not everyday.. only times I really need my skin to look very even and flawless.  I used it a lot when I worked for MAC becasue it would keep the foundation out of my pores and I was less likely to break out.  Yon just need very little becaues it spreads very easily.  I usually just put it on with a foundation brush. It keeps your makup on all day and evens out any little bumps, pores, or fine lines.   

Another Clarins item I love is the Beauty Flash Balm which retails for $45 USD.  This product can be used for hydration ..radiance ..to tighten and firm, as a mask,  it brightens the face, Olive extract and Witch Hazel tighten while Bisabolol softens, Algae extract revitalizes.  I usually like to tap it on my under eye and cheek area to get a nice glow with a tightening and lifting effect. I am not sure if this product can actually firm your skin because I dont use it all the time, but for me it has a short term (one day) firming effect.  I do not use this item as my skin care routine I just like to use it whenever my skin feels dull over or under my make up :) You need very little if you are going to put it over your make up or else your foundation will start to get clumpy.  On a hot summer day this product is great as a mask ...just place it in the fridge for 30 mins before you put it on. 

Estee Lauder reformulated their already popular daywear plus moisturizer and is now called DayWear Plus Multi protection Anti-oxidant moisturizer SPF 15.. Retails for $43 USD.  This is a preventative moisturizer it helps prevent lines and other signs of aging before they appear.  They added ingredients that help keep fighting off free radicals all day.  It still has the same fresh cucumber scent, I hate cucumbers but the scent is not to overbearing.  It is a good moisturizer for me for now because it helps hydrate just enough and is not greasy.  And I gotta have my SPF which this has.

And now to the most exciting product for me ..a NEW mascara... called Sumptous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.. it retails for $23.50 USD.  They say it has all the benefits of our best-selling sumptous, to an extreme ..its intensified formula and the biggest brush ever (which is not too big from what I am used to)makes lashes seem to multiply and magnify ..like false lashes... I will post a pic of my lashes with ut mascara and then with this mascara and the usual drug store mascara I use.  I really fell in love with this mascara due to the advertisement.. I am a sucker for good pics... I guess I am very visual. It comes in 4 different colors but I only like black mascara ;p

Venomous Villains

SSSOOOO I have been dying to get my hands on this collection!! unfortunately I was working the day it came out so my bf said he would go and get the stuff for me (sooo sweet!). He got there right before the store opened so nothing would be sold out yet. I wanted everything but I knew I couldnt have it all.. so it took me forever to decide what I should get...

Dr Facilier: Lipgelee in resort life (it is very glittery .. look more like chunks of glitter on your lips vs. glossy.. i still love it since im a fan of nude)
Maleficent: lipglass in revenge is sweet (love this on because it reminds me of "kiss me" gloss by Benefit..it looks bright but its a sheer light pink that enhances any lipstick you put underneath)

Cruella De Vil:
Lipstick in innocence, beware (love it .. pinky nude... my fav!!)
Lipglass in devilishly stylish (cute w/ the lipstick or alone.. its a peachy nude)

and my most favorite ..The Evil queen! .. I love her and I some how always thought I look like her :p
eyeshadow in vainglorious (very pretty color.. i used it as eyeliner today)
beauty powder in oh so fair (i got this one just because i like the picture on the outside..maybe ill use it one day)
blush in bite of an apple (very nice color but can get quite intense very quickly its a matte coraly pink)

ok so I have to start by saying I love MAKE UP FOR EVER and that is why I might be a bit too nice to the follow product that it deserves.
It is the High Definition Elixer $38..
What it claims to do:
Its a serum that hydrates and adds radiance to the skin.

This unique, lightweight elixir absorbs quickly into the skin, instantly hydrating and brightening the complexion. Each ingredient was specifically added to prepare skin for high- definition makeup—so you can count on the camera picking up the perks of this perfecting formula.

Now even tho this product gets great reviews.. I say its not that greatest thing ..Ihardly noticed a difference in my skin or how my make-up would wearon the days I put on this product. It does absorb quicky but I did not see any difference in the hydration of my skin and nor did i see a big difference in the brightnesss.. OMG and it finishes so quicky too :/ I would say this product is not a must and If you ask me I would just stick To the MUFE HD foundation (LOOOVVVEEE IT!!).

Product Review: Power Youth

Power Youth is a moisturized (they say its a serum.. but I say otherwise) from GIVENCHY with SPF 15.  It retails for $61.. (kinda pricy ..so I will not re-invest in this product for a while).

What they say it will do: prevent signs of aging before they start..

did I see a difference .. nah not really but then again im only 24

What did I loveabout this product:

It left my skin sooo smooth yet moisturized.. if has spf but it was not heavy or greasy at all... it had a very light smell so that was a plus because I dislike heavy scented products. I also noticed it would give my skin a nice glow ..to the point where i felt it necessary to not wear foundation.

Nail polish love...AGAIN :p

So I have fallen in love yet again... and this time with Lucky Lucky Lavender... OOHH my freakin GOOODDNESSSS this color is just so cute!

Remind me of strawberry milk or even MAC's Snob lipstick (one of my favs!) ..cool tone bab-ish pink w/ a lil pop!

I even did my toes to match ;p

If you happen to be interested in this color ..get it ASAP before it is gone...

Wicked... finally!!

So I finally saw Wicked at the Orpheum yesterday.. and it was amazing!! I have been waiting to see it for a long time now.. It was my birthday last week and my bf got us tickets to go see it.  The performance was great and upbeat for the most part.  The costumes were very unique and breath taking, the stage set up and transitions were done very well.. I wont say too much but all in all its a must see!!

Before we went to the show we had dinner at a Brazilian  place called Espetus.  Its a nice little place on Market St. about 5 blocks away from the theater.. now me being a vegetarian .. I probably would not have gone there if it werent for my bf that very much enjoys meat.  It is buffet style ..kinda.. the people come around with different meat and pour if for you unitl you indicate on your place card that you dont want anymore.  I had a salad and then we had dessert... and OMG mine was soo good it was called "the peanutbutter thing" and I loved it!

He likes to take pics and sometimes I get camera shy ;p

Today I had time to spare and wasnt in a mad rush like always to get out the door and get to work on time... so I decided to use my urbandecay alice in wonderland pallet (which i love oooo so much).

the usual.. but switched up the foundation and used even better by clinique.. I didnt like it too much. It took time to blend in and it took a couple hours before it really started to look like a part  of the skin and not like it was just sitting a top it.

It has been so hot lately I have been trying to wear less and less make-up.. which is kinda of hard when your a makeup fanatic and people tell you.  So here is my minimal makeup look in order:

MAC prep+prime skine
MAC studio finish concealer in NW25
NARS sheer glow foundation
Set with MSF in medium
Blush: glamour by Chanel (LLOOVVVVEEE it .. it gives me a good amount of color for a minimal makeup look)
Eyes:MAC e/s in ricepaper to highlight, Bobbie Brown gel eyeliner and Revlon fabulash mascara
lips: Lazy day (limited) by MAC

I know.. I know ..for some people this might be a full face of makeup but for me ..not so much ;p

-How many times do you wash your face daily?


I cleanse, tone and moisturise in the evening religiously and depending on how my skin feels I'll do the same in the morning ..if it feels clean sometimes I will only cleanse with water becasue over cleaning the skin can cause irritation.

-What skin type do you have?


My skin is normal to oily.. it can get oily in the T-zone. 
 -What is your current facial wash?


I switch it up everyday.. boscia clear complexion cleanser,  bobbi brown balm rinse and cetaphil.. 

-Do you exfoliate?


oh yea! its a must once a week!

-What brand do you use?

Iv been starting to like the MUFE velvet matte also ..that might be because it has been hot and sticky out lately

Mac studio finish!!  sometimes I'll just wear that and mascara and Im good to go!

I am a yellow/olive undertone

I love them.. if I wasnt lazy and the glue didnt pull out my lashes I would probaby wear them everyday

YES.. I love mascara so much and I put on so much that I always need a replacement before the 3 month mark.

Revlon fabulash.. all time favorite!!  diorshow extase is nice too .. but I dont want to spend $24 on mascara all the time :/

Love and Hate

OK so I came to the realization that I always talk about things that I love.. and why not if I love something I want others to have the opportunity to love it too.  At the same time I need to talke about things that I dislike..

Example this Redken shampoo.. I disliked it to the MAX there came a point where just looking at it pissed me off.. I even left it in the shower so my sister would use it up; because she uses all my stuff and she didnt even use it.
Reasons why I disliked this product:
it claims that it will preserve your hair color (dyed) vs. a regular shampoo.. tell me why this shampoo stripped my color soo fast and gave me a dry scalp. I had red highlights at the time and they faded to a brown so fast while I was using this shampoo/conditioner.  For comparison reasons I have to say while I was using my purple pureology shampoo the red highlights lasted so much longer..

only plus ..it smelled good.

ok on to my favorite part.. what I love.. so I got this exfoliator about 2 months ago and I use it once every week.  It has very fine exfoliant beads and smells citrus-y.  I use it while im in the shower and I exfoliate my skin continuously for 2 mins w/ it for a deep cleaning.  Its not some miracle worker but it does work well.. I have noticed brighter more glowy skin.. less blackheads in the nose area and it even helps fade scaring a bit too.

Dior and EOS

Like every other make-up junkie I will go through phases of lip products.  I will start using something and then I will keep it in my purse and continue to use it until I re-discover something else.  At the moment I am loving the Dior addict ultra gloss pearls:

Number 267 (pink) and 236 (peach). I usually wear nude0ish colored lips so these go well with the lipsticks I wear.  I like the formula because it is very shiny w/o the sticky mess! .. down side ..at times the glitter can be a bit much for the day time.

Another lip product that I have been excited about lately is the EOS lip balm .. 

 

Not only is it the cutest thing ever but it feels sooooo good :o) It comes in different flavors also but the smell or taste is not over bearing.  I got a set of three for about $10 .. I wasnt going to use them all so I gave one to the sister and one to the bf.  If you ever have a problem w/ your lipstick not going on well because your lipbalm is too waxy you dont have to worry about that with this product. 

SSSOOOOO I got a killer sunburn.. then it became a nice-ish tan ....and now (not surprised) I am peeling like crazzzyyyyy!!!!  LOL to the fabulous tan line ;p

PLease Help... any tips on how to get rid of the peeling phase faster???

Finally got my hands on it!!

I have been looking all over for this color and finally found it!! and I freaking love it!! its the perfect bright-ish pastel-ish blue-ish green-ish!!

I put it on real quick on my nails.. it looks sloppy but I had to post a pic :o)

It is called Nouvelle Vague (#572) byCHANEL... it is from their limited summer collection.

It will look great on the toes also!

My sisters prom

So my sister's prom was this weekend and naturally she expected me to do her make-up ...even tho I was working.. =/  ..sooo being the nice and most amazing sister that I am;  I rushed home and had about 35 minuets to do her make-up.  We decided a smokey eye would be best. So I did a dark green smokey eye, with peachy cheeks and lips :o)

My sister can't keep make-up on her face to save her life ..she is so careless sometimes so I used this on her:

....and thank you God for this make-up setting spray because her make-up lasted all night. Now this is not a miracle product or anything but it does do what it says.  It keeps your make-up on longer! it is lightweight and dries quick too :).. and NOPE it didnt change the color of any of the products on her face

 22 more days until Eclipse!!! I am sooo excited!!! the bf says hes not.. but I know secretly even he is!!! who can resist these two ;p

Benetint and Eclipse Fashion!

Let me start off by saying I Love Benefit products .. it could be a result of working for Benefit Cosmetics for 2-3 years in the ast  .. or its because they have absolutely fantastic products.. I used to use Benetint (it is a steamed rose petal stain that was originally made for a stripper nipples but in present times it is used for long lasting lip and cheek color) very often and I just forgot about it for the last couple years; until the other day I was running late for work and didnt want to go to work w/ no make-up on (because then I look 14); I put on a little bit of concealer under my eyes (due to my genetic dark circles.. thats what I get for being indian :p) ..some mascara and Benetint on my lips ..a couple layers to get the color a bit more intense.. I added a little glosss over it and I was all set!

yes yes underneath all the bronzers ..foundations.. and self tanners.. i am just a pale kid but over the years i'v learned to work with what i'v got :o)

Eclipse!!!!  I am such a fan of twilight as you can probably tell by reading my previous posts ;p ..  OK now get this.. Nordstrom is going to have their very own line of Eclipse inspired clothes!! I am so excited ..you can pre-order now on nordstom.com .. they even have lifesize cutouts of Jacob..Bella..Alice and Edward .. but I dont know about all that.  I did like some of the sweatshirts and tanks tho.. They also have the Luna Twilight make-up line on there .. I havent tried any of the products yet but I might have to =o
